Coleraine woke us up with wet weather this morning and the pleasant surprise of Mr. Hector (aka "Buddy") and Esteban G. (from '04s) finally arriving in the wee hours of this Saturday.
The '02s boys seemed to have had an overdue, well-rested night. To see their "morning-faces" showed the positive attitude all had ready to start their day with the scheduled morning "static" stretches on the grassy hill overlooking River Bann.
Once breakfast was over, the boys had some time to digest & relax in their room before training (9:00 a.m. - 11'ish a.m.) . Coach Luis saw the opportunity for the boys to get used to the inclement weather, as they will see themselves playing future games regardless of the rain.
Upon returning from practice, the boys were strongly advised to take a quick shower, hang their clothes to dry and were given Vitamin C to offset any cold-like symptoms. They then were given time to rest before lunch (at 3:00 p.m.).
As the rain began to dissipate somewhat, the nice cold-weathered walk to the U19 Manchester United verses Rangers was enjoyable. The boys benefit from seeing a team at a level (not too far from their age group) play in a "professional" setting.
We began to make our way back to Ulster campus a little before the Man-U game was over due to an '04s "friendly" game against local Coleraine team arranged at 7:30 p.m. It was nice to see how the '02s went to show good comradery with the junior team.
The day concluded with pizza delivery, more bonding time, and getting ready for the next day.
