Sunday - July 23rd

After our disappointing loss yesterday, we are immediately practicing to fix our faults. Once we finished practicing we headed towards the gym to stretch our very tight muscles. That session was very needed because it helped prevent further injuries from tightness.
As the day goes on, there is lots of hype built up for this parade. A cafeteria worker even said more than ten thousand people would be at the parade. As we have come to find out, that was quite the embellishment, but still there were thousands of people cheering for us. Many who have not come on this trip before are doubting the number of people as we ride towards Coleraine.
For the locals this tournament is like a 5 day national holiday where they can meet many of their idols. For me and others, we cannot believe how momentous this tournament is. As we approach the parade we see lots of bands as they start off the parade with their music. When we chant our chant, we are the only ones that can be heard across town. Walking through the streets, we see the joy and excitement on everyone’s faces who can't wait to see the games. For all of us, this is a surreal moment that we can only hope to revisit in the future.
